Nova Scotia has 13,300km of accessible coastline, with endless inlets, coves and harbours. With 16 yacht clubs and marinas, explore on your own vessel, or aboard one of the 17 sailing tours available across the province.
In Nova Scotia, you’re never more than 67 km away from the coast. That means beaches, coastal trails, and incredible paddling are all right outside your door and waiting to be explored. Pretty sweet place to live, right? Nova Scotia offers exceptional kayaking and canoeing experiences you won’t find anywhere else. From dramatic cliffs and arches to sheltered waterways and white sand beaches, you will love paddling along our stunning coastlines. The province also has five rowing clubs and seven paddling clubs with learn to row/paddle programs to competitive teams.
You’ll find universities, hospitals, government services and a naval base — all of them busy and bustling places. The key living areas include Halifax Peninsula, Dartmouth and Bedford. Surrounding neighbourhoods can be found not far beyond the core, including Cole Harbour, Forest Hills, Sackville, Hammonds Plains, West Bedford and many more.
Nova Scotia's wine country is shaped by the sea. Its Tidal Bay appellation is unique in North America and is known for the cool, crisp profile and unique aromatic notes in the wines. With roots reaching to the 1600s, Nova Scotia was one of the first areas to cultivate wine grapes in North America.
